European Researchers’ Night 2019

On September 27, Turin opened the doors to the European Researchers’ Night, from 6.30 pm to midnight, the pleasure of meeting with the world of research.
The European Researchers’ Night attracts every year thousands of enthusiasts and is a unique opportunity to meet researchers, find out how they work, ask them questions and have fun with experiments, demonstrations, conferences and activities.
Many new features of this new 2019 edition, strongly desired by the world of research that has organized itself to give life to a special event, a party that will take place simultaneously with over 200 appointments in other European and Italian cities.
The night is organized under the patronage of the University of Turin, Turin Polytechnic, Metropolitan City and the City of Turin, in collaboration with the Compagnia di San Paolo and the Piedmont Science System, with the support of the volunteers of the Solidarity Association Together 2010 .
CISAO researchers presented the CLICHA project at the University Rectorate illustrating the objectives and the results of the project with posters and flyers.

6th Conference of CUCS network

On 19-21 September 2019 in Trento (Italy), the CLICHA project has been presented during the 6th Conference of CUCS network(University Coordination for Development Cooperation, a network of 30 Italian universities), organised by the University of Trento together with the Centre for International Cooperation of Trento.

The theme of this conference,  titled “CITIZENSHIP AND COMMON GOODS – University and international cooperation for safety, environment and sustainable development”, is inspired by the continuous evolution and expansion of the concept and practice of development cooperation, starting by focusing on citizenship, in its local and global meaning, and the management of common goods, long-standing issues that the current and future global dynamics continuously pose as critical issues and opportunities for a sustainable development.

The CLICHA Project  was briefly presented orally in the session “Local Food Networks: Policies and Practices of International Cooperation” and a poster (see the attached file .pdf of the poster and the pictures) was exposed during the poster session planned during the conference days.

Presentation of the e-learning platform

Academic Info Day “Climate Change in Agriculture”

On May 23, 2019, the Agricultural University of Athens organised and hosted the “Climate Change in Agriculture” info day which drew its name from the homonymous ERASMUS+ project name.
During this academic info day, students, teachers and stakeholders were presented with the methodology aspects to assess the consequences of Climate Change, case studies demonstrating the role of smart agriculture and calculated choices into tackling the adverse consequences into crops production and examples of how livestock production is adversely influenced by the rise of the planet’s temperature. Moreover, the role of education within the frames of the CLICHA project was presented, but also Prof. Dr. Falia Oikonomou had the change to share her experience as part of a different educational project, entitled “New Agriculture for New Generation”. Finally, at the discussion part of the event, the audience had the opportunity to attend a live warm debate between the speakers and members of the academia who remain unconvinced that Climate Change exists and influences the environment. A series of facts and figures were exchanged by the debating sides leaving the final conclusions to be drawn by the participants.
